Has anyone here used any of FAST's stuff?
http://www.fastmanefi.com/EZEFI-port_injection.htm
I have a TPI small block and all the TPI stuff except the harness and brain. I have been looking at this. Gonna drop it in the jeep if i can get enough info on this stuff. :thumb:

what would be the possibility of mating a small block to the ax5 tranny? Could i get a bell housing for the chevy?
What about the clutch assembly? What in the world would i do there?
I understand once i make this swap i wont be allowed to post here anymore. :nono: So this decision weighs heavily on my soul. ;)

chevy 6cyl is identical for the bellhousing pattern. You can get a 220HP 3.4L v6 to mate right up to the ax-5, not sure how it will hold up though. you'll also need to figure out the clutch
as far as a v8 goes from what i know you'll need an adapter for that but it's been done so theres should be some readily available.

AX5 behind a V8 is a waste of time and money if it's possible. There has been many failures behind the 2.5L.
If your gonna do a motor swap the best thing would be to get the tranny too.

+ the t-case and rear axle

Strangely enough AA makes an AX-5 to Chevy bell housing but you're paying $500 to keep the AX-5. Just swap out to whatever transmission is on the engine and call it good. Be it manual or auto.

I see.
Will my NP231 fit a 5spd gm or similar? I currently dont have any manuals.

your 231 is a 21 spline input which is an AX-5 exclusive from what i know. Anyway, probably look for a tranny that comes with a t-case, would most likely be beefier than the 231 you have (at least the chain i think).

No, not without an adapter. GM use 5 bolt patterns on their transfer cases while DOdge and Jeep use 6 bolt patterns. AA sells adapters but again, you're paying around $500. You'd be better off finding a 231-C with the 5 bolt pattern.

You mean 6 bolt on Dodge and Jeep. I know, just a typo.
You're better off finding a GM v8 with the transmission and transfer case already attached, hell buy an entire parts vehicle if you can. It sure does save a lot of money over buying adapters to billy-bob things together.

Sorry about that, yeah, 6-bolt.
Considering you'd be spending anywhere from $500-600 on an adapter to mate an engine to the transmission and another $5-600 to mate the transmission to the transfer case, I would suggest going with a matching pair and not dealing with adapters all together.
