Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon LAPV 6.X Concept

Mercedes introduced a new armoured truck concept to the defence industry. The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon Light Armoured Patrol Vehicle 6.X was shown off for the first time last month during Eurosatory 2010 in Paris.
Based on the LAPV 5.4, the 6.X was meant to carry larger and heavier cargo, while offering better protection as well as agility. It uses an unspecified common-rail diesel engine that lets the concept hit 150 km/h (93 mph) even if carrying 1,300 kilograms (2,866 lbs) of cargo.
Various agencies would be pleased with the truck's armour plate design, that lets repair teams quickly remove and replace damaged pieces. Additional plates of armour may be installed quickly and as needed. This includes protection from land mines that can be added at the LAPV's floor.
Other features on the off-roader include variable air shock absorbers that can be adjusted on the fly to provide up to 450mm of clearance. Hydraulic brakes with ventilated discs were also added to make rough terrain easier to navigate.
A cooperation with the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company provides command center capabilities with a data recorder, communications system, and jamming system.
The bi-annual Eurosatory conference is geared towards "Land, Airland, [and] Homeland" defence professionals. Aside from product unveilings and demonstrations, the exhibition features think tanks and conferences on topics like military technology, logistics, and field health services.

I'm sure it's pushing 3Tons. Looks like it's using medium duty Unimog axles. It's rolling on 37x12.5R18's which look small on it so it's got to be big. Larger then the regular G-wagon. It looks cool but I hope it's more Unimog then G-wagon.
They don't mention the armor specs. I'll guess it's small arms like what the US has with the Up Armor with the M1114's. But that adds 2000lbs to the standard M998 which makes for a sluggish vehicle.

Yeah it looks HEAVY. I though it looked cool in a Hot Wheels kind of way. What army would want those orange Cayenne Transsyberia style wheels

Little late in reply, but yes you are right!
It was shamefull football from the Dutch side. Hope next time they will behave and loose better.

In all honesty, it was a combination of bad luck and good goalkeeper on the Spanish side; Iker saved not one but TWO nice shots on the goal from Van Piercen...
