Title: driveline vibration problems
Post by: 95jeeper on August 09, 2010, 10:29:10 AM
If its not one thing its another. Started a few weeks ago, feels like the rear end has a very bad vibration. At about 30 it starts and smooths out till about 45 then its unbearable. When i accelerate and down shift the problem gets worse. Could it be the bearings in the rear end or maybe just the driveshaft?

Sounds like the rear ujoints.

Yup, the accelerating and decelerating will cause the pinion to point up and down which is why it gets worse.  it could be something as simple as the straps bolts loosening up.

Being a 95, I'll assume YJ, and with someone else on here shearing their center pins, I'd quickly check the location of the axle relative to the wheelwell, then to the leaf springs and lastly quickly look at the u-bolts, nuts and flat spring plate. See if one shock has a different angle than the other.
