Title: Bay Area jeepers??
Post by: N8whitie on August 22, 2010, 06:41:44 PM
 Hows it going guys?!

I was wondering if there is any jeepers here from the Bay Area?? reason being is  1- Its just nice to know who's in your neck of the woods... maybe go wheeling sometime. 2- I have some up and coming projects and no garage because I currently live in a condo and with this grand economy it doesn't look like I'm getting a house with a garage anytime soon. I was wondering if anyone has a good mechanic to recommend or if anyone has a garage and wants to make some extra dough helping me get some things done. Here are some to name a few..... Doing a lift swap from my joke of a lift now to some 4.5" Deaver springs with new shackles and shocks... maybe a shackle reversal.  New Banks headers with magnaflow cat/ catback.... and eventually a rear axle swap from my 35 to a Ford 9 or a 44. The lift and exhaust will be shortly after I get back from the Gulf ( maybe the end of Sep, beg of Oct) and axles are whenever I can save enough cash to get that badboy.

I would rather pay someone with a garage so I can get under and wrench too. I don't like the idea of just dropping my jeep off somewhere and then picking it up and having it all done.... It's like cheating and I feel that it takes alot of the fun out of having a Jeep so I have a hard time with it.

FYI: I have alot of my own tools and if we use yours I will treat them and you with the utmost respect. I'm not an A-hole..... unless we're really good friends. lol.. I don't drink much anymore but I can bring beers or whatever... on top of the cash that is. haha.

Thanks for reading guys. happy Jeepin'      - Nate

OK, I have internet access again, however, I'm now at a decon dock for our ships in Mobile, Alabama and my company is keeping me out here for a little longer than expected. So I can order stuff for my lift first and have it at home when I get there.... Also, Thank you for the replies.
My question is about the lift I'm planning. I priced this out with the Deaver springs, Currie shackles and Bilstein 5100's and its around 2 G's. That seems like alot of loot for a lift. What opinions do you guys have on the best route I can go without going broke doing it?? 2 grand is just hard to hand over.

 Thanks, Nate

Nevermind, I'm just doing the set up jeffy recommended. You can't substitute high quality for price. Besides, I've busted my ass out here all summer and haven't gone camping once so I'm doing it.... then going camping.
