what's a 2.5l tdII?

A Chrysler K engine? A Turbo II isn't a 2.5L but rather a 2.2L. I don't believe they ever used the engine in a N-S RWD setup. The biggest hurdle would be to figure out of the Chrysler engine has a standard bellhousing. I don't believe it uses the same pattern as the AMC which is a GM 60* Bolt Pattern. I think performance wise, it's a marginal upgrade. You might as well go with a Chrysler 2.4L World Engine. You'll have to replace teh whole drivetrain but then you'll get a decent engine and can upgrade to a Merc 6-speed.

with alot of digging i found a bell housing to mount it to my ax15 that i swapped in this spring. as for the 2.4 i cant get one in and running for as cheap as this setup. i already got most of what i need laying around. other than the electronics and a megasquirt system is fairly cheap. but i thankyou for not going straight to the v8 or 4.0 swap i like haveing a light front end. by the way have you noticed i cant spell. on another note the power increase wont be marginal as when complete and running with a proper tune u will start upgradeing it. the short block is already capable with forged crank rods and pistons. and a header will already be in place intake will be a one off that i have to make. from then on its cams injectors and more boost some were around 20 psi.i do appreciate the input though it lets me see how people feel about this swap.

can you use the computer and harness off the donor - not sure if it's possible but just thinking would save you a bit of tuneup and i am guessing you would probably be able to find a programmer for it iif you want to increase the boost (should be fairly straight forward to adapt the harness as long as you have the pinouts).

i am going to use a mega squirt system to run it all that way i can tune it from this here laptop on the local dyno if it is still in operation its at a muffler shop that dont see much business for anything but four wheelers.
