Ok, I am gonna try to describe this the best I can. Lets say that BLAAAAAHHHHHH is the sound of the exhaust then when I downshift it sounds like this BLAHHHHHH BLAAHH BLAHHH BLAAHH BLAAAAAAHHHHH. Get it? Go ahead, Flame on................
I think this means I have a leak in my exhaust correct?
-
So it barbles? That's normal if you have a performance exhaust. Even a stock exhaust might do it on a downhill.
-
No performance exhaust at all. And it does it any time I down shift or use gears to slow down. Down hill or not. I don't mind it too much but it is kind of annoying when it does it down every side street. I did just replace the muffler with another stock model. But it did this prior, just much louder due to the huge hole in the muffler.
-
So, you have a hole in the muffler?
-
Mine doesn't do it on a downshift unless I tap the gas pedal after the downshift, then it pops BLAHHH BLAHHH BLAHHH..
-
No hole in the muffler. I just replaced the muffler. The old one had a fist sized hole.
-
not to worry you or anything as mine does that too (maybe not as obvious but i know exactly what you describe) - could be an injector leaking or squirting as the fuel is cut down quite a bit in engine brake
-
If it is the throaty BRUP BRUP BRUP coming from the exhaust, I would not be too worried; I have had it happen before and after the exhast change, the cat change, the injector change, the adjustable FPR change... You get the idea.

Ok, Cool. 1 down dozens more to go. lol
