Title: Installing Power Steering
Post by: lqdtrance on September 26, 2010, 04:04:31 PM
Is this something that is fairly easy? Is it worth it or is there another option worth looking at? What kind of prices can I expect? I did some looking around and it seems kind of expensive.

should be, just pull it off a j/y one - can't see them charging you more than $150 or so for the whole thing (depends on if you pull it or not).

$100 + shipping

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JEEP-WRANGLER-YJ-91-95-POWER-STEERING-CONVERSION-/180564467511?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a0a7b1f37

Doesn't say if it is from a 6 or 4 cyl, but the only difference should be the bracket to mount the pump.

$80 + shipping

Most of the accessories/brackets on the front of a 4.0L should transfer over to a 2.5L.  Just stick with YJ parts.

ebay has some great deals and you don't even have to get your hands dirty!  I shop there often.
