Title: New tube fenders installed
Post by: N8whitie on September 27, 2010, 07:20:24 AM
Well, I just got back from the GOM to find a pair of Smittybilt tube fenders waiting for me to install. So on Sunday I put those bad boys on. THis was my first time ever doing body work and I have to say that it went alright. The worst part was getting the bolt in on the rear end of the fender to the body.MAN! those were tight spots. I suck at remembering to take pics but my GF took some. Heres the YJ in all of its tube fender glory. 'll get more as soon as I put my new suspension on and take the bodylift off.(http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b13/n8whitie/IMAG0049.jpg)

Thanks man. So far I like them alot. Lots of clearance, looks good and they're super sturdy, I can stand on them with no problem. I'm putting my new suspension, swapping the silly extra long shackles and removing the 3"body lift it has on it next week, its a 4.5 BDS kit and it will lower it a little bit but I think I'll still be able to fit 35's if I wanted to so it will look better after I do that. I'm running 33's right now. make sure you have short bimetal blades as well as long ones for your sawzall.. unless you're going to use a cutting wheel.
