Title: OBD scanners
Post by: Eucalypta on October 01, 2010, 12:32:14 PM
Hi guys,

Since I still have my "hickupping" problem I am looking into a way to monitor the datastream to and from the ECU. Just to keep me from swapping sensors and components at random.
For the OBDII systems, many scanners are on the market.(I really like the WINALDL with home brew cable...but that seems only to work for GM powertrains)
For my 1994 YJ, which uses OBDI, I see alot of scanners but they seem to be code readers only.

I am looking to monitor a lot more information than just codes. I would like to see voltage and ohm signals from for instance the TPS and O2 sensors. And if possible even real time or logged.
What scanner would be able to do this?

Thnx,

John

Snapon solis, nice that is a way cool toy.
OTC Monitor 4000 will work fine for older Jeeps, not a bad scanner for it's day.
Does it come with the 3 in 1 domestic software?

ya I'm a licensed tech at GM but wanted a scanner for none GM vehicles.  my self I don't own a chev. it's jeep and Honda right now for me.

my family is dodge jeep and friends have Honda and fords and a mix of everything so I needed something much more advanced.  the only thing i used the monitor 4000E for was my jeep now.

i should be able to post pics tomorrow on every thing I have with it. I had lent it to a friend to and just got it back so I will make sure it's a ok before I post to much more on it
