I went with a mopar perform pcm. Other might have worked but I wanted to avoid any issues with security most that I have read go with a truck pcm for same reason.300

sold my 2 4banger motors and 1 auto trans for price of donor 93zj.
traded zj seats for b n m shifter.
radiator.3core outlets on correct sides 200
drive shafts shortened and lengthened 270
hoses belt and exhaust 150
i dont know maybe 1000-1200 lot of custom cut and weld stuff and wiring done by friends in local club

I took the fuel pump out of zj and put on yj..they were identicle in shape and size

its kinda long set up. I sold my tcase w sye for 250 and put a mega short in my spare tcase and junkyard wide chain and 6planetary and drilled some 7inch long btf perches 2 inches and plates to push axle back 2inches. I wanted to keep the od unit on the trans....btw 70mph at 1500-1750rpm

what's a mopar perfrom pcm - is that an a/m one? do you have a link or p/n, where did you get it? $300 sounds reasonable, is it programmable?

it takes out speed limiter . mimimizes trq manager . advances timing i think. premium gas only. 25-30hp gain. it was suposed to come with paperwork so i cld get 100 for core but did not. so should have been 214 after core. i have an email for guy i am on phone so will get later for you. it is obd1, soo i would think nonprogramable. made by mopar or company that refurbishes for mopar/chrysler. i figure eliminating fan and ac and perf pcm i shld be around 250conservativly hp

so it's a tuned ZJ PCM then? I thought was a standalone for $300 and you got me all excited :D

when are you gonna put up more info on the build? anxious to see what all was used, and more specifics on what to do for an easy swap and things to watch for so it doesn't take forever to do. it sounds as though it might be easier to do the 5.2L as a swap than the 5.7l.

how much room is there between engine and fenders and engine and firewall/radiator?

also which transmission do you have bolted up to it?

I have been busy as hell lately and havnt had a chance to update my build thread on my jeep club.

http://www.gljt.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=11939

and here is a link to some videos of shakedown run
http://www.militaryjeepers.com/community/showthread.php?20411-5.2l-yj-shakedown-run

or try youtube search of mylilyj

looks like it was meant to be there . I used the 46rh that was in the zj with that motor. I kept the od unit. which meant 2 inch streatch and super short sye. but 75mph at only 1600rpm.

I will try and give you more updates when I have time to catch up. so much happened last 2weeks of assembly and I need to finish build thread

that's some great stuff dude. looks like it's a real beast off road now. i might consider doing the same swap but with a manual trans. that is if i don't sell my yj and go for an xj, zj, or tj. i have a guy that has been begging me to sell to him. he' s offering 3 grand and dealer was offering 2,500. idk. gotta take a look at how much a junkyard donor with the 5.2l would be.

I found my donor for 600...and sold my 2 4bangers and 1 auto trans for 600....xj zj wiring is nuts...I am sticking to my simple yjs

I saw that your donor had a bombed front axle, was the person just selling it for scrap? And I'm not sure I saw if you kept a/c with the engine. That would be something I'd want to have for when it's raining in the summer.

he was asking 1200 with him swapping new axle in. i asked how much without. and he cldnt find the keys either.

no thought of keeping ac. yj needs seperate under dash blower mechanism i dnt have
i did think about keeping cruise however my buddy that did the wiring told me where to stick that idea. cant argue with free help.
