Ok guys, awhile back I had discussed doing a new exhaust on my YJ. Ended up getting a Banks Stainless and a new cat. Getting ready to put it on in a week or two over break.
My question is about my headpipe. I'd also like to replace it now rather than later. I've heard rumors/ramblings about a TJ headpipe fitting onto a YJ and being a better fit (around the oil pan) than the stocker YJ pipe.
So, I need some clairfication on that. 8)

i just had the muffler shop re route mine like a tj costed 40 bones head to muffler no more crushed pipe under tranny :D

Me too, had mine custom bent to go in front of the oilpan sump. The TJ downpipe does the same thing, but I have no firsthand experience with putting one a YJ.

I thought the TJ's manifold was slightly different?

Dunno about the manifold...i'm talking about the headpipe...
The connections should be the same...just the routing may vary (what i'm hoping for)
Going to stop by the local performance shop and see how much a newly bent piece will be 8)

Yes... I thought the manifold's output was in a different location then on the YJ's. If that's the case then you won't be able to use the down pipe.
