You ever do something that involves going down a oneway road on a project?
I hate when this happens. You plan out one project get it completed and it looks great but then later on you find something else that would have looked even better. Only problem is that you can't do it because you've cut something off or changed it enough so it won't work without leaving holes.
This happened recently when I was out looking for a new interior light. While I was in the auto parts store, I was browsing everything just to see if I could use it something for a project later on. Well, as I was checking out lights I saw 2" recessed LED tail lights. They had red and orange. It would have really looked cool to have two little round rear lights then a larger red one. Only problem, I cut a 2x6" slot into the back to fit the existing lights. D'oh!
The other thing was that the 2" lights cost $18 each and I'd need 4. I still might change them out but that will have to wait till I get some corner panel rock guards. Oh well!

This could be an excuse to buy a small MIG welder and start to patch some holes. :D

Hahah, that's ok. Although I do still have the metal that I cut from them. LOL! That's ok, I want it to look clean. If I use corner panels, it will look clean. In any case, the current lights work fine and look cool. The 2" round ones would be a bit more 'custom' since I haven't seen anyone use them.

I'm starting to like your 2" round light idea.....I would like to take the 2" yeallow and add it to the front grill of my TJ (like the old CJ's have) as there is nothing there.
I really want a powerful backup light though so I can see through the tinted windows...current ones aren;t doing much for me.
