I'm trying to find out the gear ratio of a front end from a
1994 Jeep Wrangler. It had a 4 cylinder with a 5 speed.
Can't find any numbers on it.
Was there a common one?
Thanks,
Vance

There should be a tag on the diff cover, unless someone removed the diff cover and list the tag. More then likely your gear ratio for the front is 4.10:1. The rear will be 4.11:1.

+1 unless someone swapped the gears or axles. easy way to be 100% is do a diff service pull the cover dump fluids and count the teeth and do the math really easy to do!!

Put the rear up on jack stands mark the rear tire and mark the drive shaft. turn the wheel and count the number of turns the drive shaft make. If it makes 4 turns it's 4.11 if it comes up short it is a 3. something.
