Title: Newbie question (sway bar)
Post by: MarkyB on March 30, 2011, 09:52:36 PM
So, I'm going to Mountainside Offroad park next weekend.  I don't have much experience with coil spring suspensions. (2001 TJ spacer lift and 31s)
I know it's common to disconnect the front swaybar, but can I disconnect both the front and rear swaybars?  I'm trailering the TJ, so it won't be on the highway.  Body roll I can deal with as long as I'm not making it unstable.

People disconnect the front but from what I've heard removing the rear doesn't really do much.

That's been my experience as well... the rear flexes rather well with the sway bar connected, disconnecting or removing it makes very little difference.

Do not disconnect the rear, it will not benefit offroad performance and it WILL make the jeep more unstable.
