does any one know if the chevy s10 steering column from like the late 80's early 90's will fit a wrangler. i know they look similar and use similar parts.

Should be the same, at least the major parts.  Jeeps use a GM style column.

my boss is packing around a tilt column from an s10 and seeing as i dont have tilt steering, my biggest concern was the electrical conection and the mounting flange, and would the jeep ignition cylinder fit in the gm column

Well if he's got one already out then you should be able to measure it up.  It probably won't be 100% bolt-on.  You might have to disassemble and pin the connectors or else maybe flip them.  I'm not sure what flange they use on the GM's but they do use a Saganaw steering box which is what the Jeep uses.  I know some have swapped S-10 columns into CJ's but I haven't heard of anyone doing it to a YJ.
