So who has done it and where did you get it. Its not that I plan to go without doors or use soft doors. Its the fact when You shut the door the mirror readjusts itself. Done this for a long time and Now that I'm used to mirrors that stay adjusted ( on my truck) I need to get a fix in .

Well, you could always fix the mirror or replace it with a new one. Otherwise you could get a relocation bracket and install that. Only problem is those windshield hinge bolts are a PITA because they are torx and the nuts are covered in body sealer. Another option I've seen is to take the mount for the stock mirror and drill and tap three holes into the windshield hinge itself. Or you could go with CJ style mirrors.
Personally, I'd try tightening the stock mirrors or else just replace them.

I once had a Bronco II with a mirror that got loose and would move with the wind. A brand new replacement from the dealership got loose in a few months. So I ended up drilling a small hole into the socket of the ball and socket joint and put in a screw to keep it in place. Then it worked great for as long as I owned it.

If you move the rubber sleeve out of the way you'll see a screw, plate and the ball joint. You could try tightening it but it might be better to just take it apart. I forget if you can tale the whole ball joint apart or not. If you can then you could wrap the ball in a layer of aluminum foil or even a napkin to create a shim for the socket to grab onto. Otherwise you could do with neale did and drill a hole and add a screw.

I went with 03-06 TJ mirrors for the look, and it fixed the adjusting issue I had as well.
