there is always someone who thinks their rig is indestructable... I still like the video called "the last jump of the bumble bee" on youtube as one of the best, though...

:roflol:
best part is you can't do an insurace claim on that

Supposedly it was a new Chevy borrowed from his Mom.

I bet that was the last time she let him borrow anything from her!

Most of the damage was absorbed by the suspension and the transfer case. Should have been fixable if the kid knew anything about repairs.

new frame
Didn't look like it needed one. With the lift the suspension sucked up most of that impact.

It looked bananaed so I would say it needs a frame

The Chevy or the TJ? The Chevy definitely. The TJ, I'm not sure.

How about this ninkompoop:

Nothing like adding a passanger in the bed of a pickup to make a stupid trick even dumber!
If you are going to jump the jeep, here's the right way to do it (as in FIND A LANDING RAMP to soften the landing!):

I think this is the same Chevy. Said to be doing 65mph. Might not be the 'Crash' though.

I think this is the same Chevy. Said to be doing 65mph. The problem is he went too fast and overshot the back side of the dune and ended up landing the in bottom of the bowl.

Yeah, it's the same jump... Chevy leans in the same angle, you can see the same silver SUV on the far side and ATV on the near side, and the same junk flies out of the bed while in mid air... Definitely gave it too much speed!

i was talking about the Chevy
the bumblebee landed on it's front bumper, so it's likely to need a frame too but didn't look like it from the side though (as opposed to the Chevy which was pretty obvious)

Since things shifted to the TJ, I was talking about it. The Chevy was bone stock. Nothing to help it absorb the impact other then the body and frame. I was reading that the guy suspects $3000 worth of damage. I suspect it's closer to $5000 if not more.

I don't think engine size would have stopped him.

If he could not get up to speed, he would not have jumped as far...

that wasn't all that fast, the 4banger can probably match the speed, i think Jeffy is right, it's the missing nuts and bolts in the guy's head that matter more than the extra 4 cylinders.
