Title: Coil
Post by: grumpygy on June 03, 2011, 06:41:37 PM
Ok did not read the other topic and went with Pertronix Oil Filled 3.0 OHM 40,000 Volt Flame Thrower Ignition Coil .  When I drive to work 25 Miles in the Morning and its cool the jeep runs fine or at least better.  But coming back in the afternoon it starts cutting out and missing badly.

So is this coil a direct bolt in or do I need some resistor  for it.  It felt warm to Hot today when I got home.    I still have fuel problems I believe.  But will be draining the tank and dropping it to make sure its clean.

Ok did some searching and should I have gottern the 1.5 Ohms coil instead.  Most of what I find is 1.0 -1.5 after market coils listed for the 2.5 with stock Ignition.

Could somebody verify that I'm on the right track with the coil and the OHMS.

This one was listed for my jeep.  I am going to put back in a stock one.  I can always use this one on my VW.  Buit I would still like to know what OHM the coil is supposed to be.  Cause I've seen stock vary.
