hey guys i am new to the site and happened on it. i was wondering how i can make my 86 cj-7 with the amc 150 ci motor to stay running on the up hill climbs witht he carb. any opinions??

Carbs tend to flood when reaching certain angles. If you can find a Truck Avenger carb (I believe Holly makes them, not sure though), put that on. They're designed to handle more extreme angles.

I think the Truck Avenger will be too big. They have a 440, 670 and 770.
The problem will be the float and the overflow tube. The Avengers they connect the two vent tubes so as one drains the other fills. But these are 4 barrel carbs. Before The Avenger there was the Eagle Predator. They went belly up years ago. I believe Weber is the ony one who makes a kit. ALthough not consider street legal. Not much help though. I'm not really a carb guy.

i wish i didn't have a carb either but since i do i have to deal with it or make something work

You could convert to fuel injection, but then u'd need a proper computer for it and it can be expensive.
