Title: FRONT SPEAKER 5 1/4 adapter plates for Wranglers
Post by: Utwrangler25 on October 29, 2011, 02:57:26 PM
I know this was brought up in a different thread but the company that was talked about does not make them or isn't around. Any way I was reading through the new November issue of jp magazine. In the Randys corner section they have brackets sold by 4wd.com. Go to 4wd.com and in the upper right corner you can do a search or put in the pn. The pn is MTCJTJ514B               I have gone to their web site and confirmed this pn
So if your tired of the 4x6 here is another option.

That's where I bought mine. They needed a little "massaging" and trimming of some internal metal to fit properly, but they do work. And it made a huge difference.

You could make your own plates from metal, plastic or even pressboard.  The biggest problem is having enough room.

Best thing would be to add a panel under the rocker and add a 5x7 by your feet.  This of course isn't the greatest place if you do water crossing though but sounds great.  I did this for a while.  Otherwise, make a box on the transmission hump and have two speakers facing out into each footwell.  Not the greatest placement but still better then then stock.
