How bout all those 2.4 tj guys out there
« on: July 31, 2011, 08:48:00 AM »
Just thought i'd throw this out there for some of you 2.4 guys, that just might be interested in something more for your ride. Just go to Merrill Performance.com and tap onto the High Rides link and it should speak for its self. Yeah im kinda in the shadows waiting for them to get the manifold jigged up, so i can get my project started. I've had my 2.4 tj for 5 yrs now and had grown to really enjoy my 2.4 for what it is.

i did a quick browse thru that thread and aside of the fact that there is nothing new in there here's what's concerning

1 - did not see anything that would increase fuel for boost (no fuel management, maybe i missed it but if you apply boost and don't add fuel you're not gaining anything other than maybe the sound of the blow-off valve)
2 - this statement from the builder:
Quote
A simple check valve should fix the issue. It does freak out for a minute and throws a CEL for coorelation of MAP to TPS but it is slowly learning. If I check the MAP it should live but I will have to dig deep into this.
3 - the owner got rid of the Jeep (probably because of #1 and 2)

Im sure that all that stuff like fuel management and other things needed like (boost) to make it work can be delt with if one know what he's doing, i meen im no turbo know it all, but atleast theres a route now, to have a turbo setup on the 2.4 tj.

it's been done before, no different than the upside-down PTCruiser turbo exhaust header and as far a a route you can always take the downpipe and route it to a turbo, all it's there is the exhaust header adapter for turbo.
