your issue is different than his just based on descriptions, however the checks apply to you as well and i'd say in addition to all that you should also look at your ignition components, so whatever his issue was (most likely the cat) might not be yours, i'd say start your own thread and describe the problem in detail and what have you done so far.

my jeep does the same thing, i posted a video of it it does on my old thread, jeep lopeing... if this is the same problem as yours let me know how you fixed it its a pain in the ass! someone told me it could also be injectors

are you still running with a busted o2 sensor?

OK, thanks for the patience.  Rather than spending $50 on a fuel rail adapter just to test my fuel pressure, I decided to put that money towards a new fuel pump.  With the help of a friend, I dropped the fuel tank.  I have one of the Genright Crawler tanks.  It was pretty simple to drop.  I pulled the fuel pump out, and the big strainer on the bottom of the pump was totally gone.  Whoever installed the tank, left the friggin strainer off the pump.  I disassembled the fuel pump assembly, and the little strainer inside the fuel pump was totally clogged.  I installed the new pump motor, new strainers, and got it all back together.  My bogging and hesitation are cured.
