The wranglerforum guy seems to describe being more or less on his own when doing the swap. Talking to HPA made it seem like they provide a healthy amount of the components including wiring harness (that can be purchased separately). Wonder if this is a far larger headache than I originally thought. I'm gonna have to talk to them again and see exactly what I'll need to complete this. Of course, on my end I'll be trying to swap this for an automatic and it's still up in the air as to whether I'll be able to use that trany.
Yeah...I felt the same way after trading some emails with HPA...but maybe that's because all they do is tune VW's all day. Still, I don't think that guy had the wiring harness and a bunch of the other stuff I planned on buying (like, basically, they're entire kit)...sure seems like "drop-in" to me. Hell if I'm going to VW technical training class just to install an engine.
