1-2k hesitation

What happen is,
when I excelarate from idle (after I let the clutch out) and give it heavy gas... the jeep lunges and cuts out and sputters tell about 2kRPM, It was doing it all the time tell I got to speed, but I replaced the plugs and it runs very well from 2k+ RPM, now like I said above it is just doing it to 2k, I put injector cleaner in it, ran the full tank, it got much worse at first, then got better, now its back to the way it was at the end of the tank.
Well I don't know what to do now... I ran a code check... nothing.
I had the AC on today (I got a sun burn and didn't want to sit in trafic and get even more of a sun burn) and it died three times taking off... If I rev the lil 2.4L to 2k and let out the cluch, it runs like a champ. But there is a problem that is not going away. and it gets worse.
One more bit of info I have is that when I replaced my plugs the cylinder in the back (#4?) closest to the firewall, was chared badly, but the other 3 was fine. I'm so confused.

Update...
One of the new plugs I put in was cracked.

Funny story, I was at the jeep dealership to let them find the problem...
I told em all I did to it... when I told em I checked the wires for sparks jumping, they stoped me and told me I don't have plug wires... they stoped using wires in 02. I told them they where wrong that I did and I'll show them... lifted the hood and the maneger said "Dude!... you have a disel... and I bet you been puting gas in it! Thats your problem!!!"

He called his asstant over and he said the same thing.... I was to dumbfounded to reply to it...
With in 2 mins there where 6 techs around my jeep and one of them said "I think this is a 2.5L" I said your close... its a 2.4. the all talked among them selfs for a little bit. they all said this is the first 2.4L they ever saw and they work on around 60-70 jeeps a day.
The Thing that tottly blows me away is that it says right on top of the engin 2.4L power tech!
I'm a little woryed to go back there again.

That's messed up.  I'm thinking I'd find a new stealer to goto when you need more than your own toolbox can handle. :)

I have a horror story too.....

That sounds like a new thread.

Problem came back and worce than befor, I checked the plugs again and cyl1 plug had a burn mark up the side of it, Looked like it was cracked like the other ones, so I ordered new wires and more plugs. (All bosch wires and Bosch plat+4 plugs this time) and its been runing like a champ, I can even pass people again, and up a hill to boot! Seems to me like it has more pep, but it could be just that all 4 cyl's are working again too!
If feels so good to be able to fix these things your self and not have to rely on some oen elce to fix it.... A year ago I only knew how to change oil. Now much more! I can't wait to break into more of my jeep and see what elce I can learn!

Cool deal!!

Jeeps aren't really that hard to work on.  That's another big selling point about the brand.  Nothing a good set of tools, and few hours in a book (the manual or repair book) and maybe a buddy who's done some of it before.

One thing has been said time and time again.  Jeeps are built, not bought.  It's even more fun to build it youself!
