got a new jeep!
« on: June 25, 2006, 08:31:17 PM »
i just went from a red 91 hardtop YJ to a white 99 both tops TJ
i gotta say, just the difference in the suspension is amazing
in the YJ i would go down my dirt road and be thrown all over, the TJs coil suspension soaks it all up like a dream.
very nice, i love my new TJ.
its highway behavior is so much better too, i can climb a hill and still maintain 65 no problem, cruises easy at 75 on the flats, and OH TO HAVE CRUISE CONTROL AGAIN!
its far far away but i cant wait for spring break to drive her to Florida.
ill see if i can take some pics tomorrow, i'll be installing speaker adaptor plates for the 4x6s to 5 1/4" tomorrow, ill try to do a writeup.

oh! one more thing, has anyone had experience with the 3" basic lift from rustys offroad?
http://rustysoffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=TJ3K&Category_Code=sus_tj_kit
its $459 and for $100 more they throw in a 1" body lift and a 1" motor mount lift
im seekin round for a good deal to raise me up so i can slap on 33's, the black diamond doesnt look bad either....
well thats it for my rambling  :D

hey congrats great  choice. when i bought my tj i wanted to run 33's too so i went with tera flex 3 inch standard kit. I think it was about the same price. the flex i get from this kit is rediculus, the ride quality feels close to stock and i run 33 muds with a scoosh of rubbing when im flexed out, none on normal driving conditions. this kit doesn't come with quick disco's or shocks but man i tell you what, i'm a e-2 in the marine corps and don't make crap, and i  wanted to  get my money's worth and this kit was it, i have no regrets i love everything about it, it performs better than i thought it would. ask chrisfranklin about the articulation of my jeep he has seen it in action. another kit i would go with is rubicon express. those are the only two i would stick with. make sure you buy a lift from a company who specializez in jeeps, this is my opinion but stay away from pro comp, sky jacker, rancho. especially for the higher end kits. good luck let me know what you go with
