Lift in waiting...

Well - I got a RE 4" std lift. I will might start the install this weekend - A few buddies are tempting me with a camping & wheeling outing this w/e... Might just have to take it as a low rider one more time.

I am undecided on tires - I currently have 30" Dunlops - which I am quite happy with.

Figured I would lift it and see how much room I end up with after it settles in... I also am running a MORE 1" BL - (Which I will keep installed.)

Anyone else have some time with a RE 4" std. kit? If so how'd ya like it with 33"s?

well i know its different cuz your is leaf springs and the tls are coil sprins... but my dad got a 3.5 inc lift for his rubicon and it fits 33's realy nicely but it could fit 35s..... it also depends on how old / shot your old leafs are.. on my 1990 yj when i replaced the springs with springs with 2.5 inches of lift it lifted the jeep a good 4 inchs cuz the old ones were so shot....

33's shouild fit nicely or even 35's depends on yuour preference and $$$$
1990 YJ 4cly, ax5, 2.5 inch BDS lift, 31 MTr\'s,  Powertrax-lockers all around, track-bars removed, boomerang shackles, warn m8000 winch, electric fan. [sold but not forgotten]

Are you prepared to spend more $$$?

Adding a significant suspension lift to gain clearance for larger tires also requires changes in driveline ratios. You may think that going from stock to 30's was bad enough, but wait till you go from stock to 30's to 33/35's with the stock gearing. In you sig, you have an 8.8, so I'll assume stock front axle. With the 95, you should have the larger 297 u-joints rather than the smaller 260 joints. So you should be fine there with the larger tires. Your gearing will need to be changed to compensate for the larger tire circumference. If you are breaking down the axles for gearing, might as well step up to adding lockers. This will save time and money in the long run.

97 SE - Rubbered and locked for fun
94 SE - stock, collecting parts for 37s

I have already looked into gearing. (Had to replace the r&p in the D35 I tossed...) So, I'll adress that myself.

My 4 banger has always had 30" tires and the 4.10s are fine.

The main reason I am waiting on gears and tires is b/c I want to see how the lift settles in... and how much room I have to work with.

This is not a DD so I have some time.

Getting some pressure to lift it and wheel it with 30's from my buddy... for now.
That will look great
