"Clutch going?"

So I have a 95 Rio Grande...5 speed 4 banger -
Every once in a while, under normal RPM shifts from 2nd to 3rd and then 3rd to 4th gear I'm grinding the gears.  I'm no mechanic but anyone know what this is ?  I've heard throw out bearing, clutch etc.
Yes,,, I know how to shift

Its not your clutch, its most likely just the syncros (you said it has almost 150,000 miles in that other thread) are finally going. You can try switching to a good fluid like redline MT90, but a rebuild/replacement are in your future  :(    If the clutch is "slipping" then it is going, as in you hit the gas and the rpms increase but the car doesn't really move, or if when you shift the rpms dont drop back down right away after you release the clutch pedal.

thx
Syncro's huh - sounds like AAMCO - what's something like that go for to fix roughly... ?

Clutch is good then - no slippage.

Throw Redline MT90 in it, you may never have another problem.  It's that good.

It can go for a lot. If you are going to get it done. I'd remove the transmission myself and bring it to them. This way you dont have to pay for the labor of removing and installing the transmission. But try some redline MT90 first and see what that does for you. If you are going to rebuild or replace the transmission (you could upgrade to a stronger transmission), i recommend changing the clutch at the same time.
