E-22 PCM recall

I got a letter from Chrysler today, stating that there is a recall on some Jeeps.  Here's the first paragraph.
"The Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has determined that certain 1996 model year Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with a 4.0 liter engine and certain 1997 and 1998 Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee vehicles, and Dodge Dakota pickup trucks equipped with a 2.5 liter engine require modification in order to comply with requirements of the Clean Air Act designed to protect public health and welfare."
Evidently the PCM has some bad software, and it's burning up Catalytic Converters.
I thought I'd pass this along to anyone who may not have gotten this yet, or might not get it at all if they bought their Jeep from a private party.

I also though, have a question to pose.

I have a replacement Catalytic Converter.  I had to replace the OEM one about two years ago, as it crapped out.
Is the Stealership gonna pay me back for this?  They (in the letter) admit that it's the PCM's fault that my Catalytic took a dump.  And the new one is rattling already too.

Any ideas?

the dealer's standpoint is that it will not replace an aftermarket converter but you can be rembersed for the replacement cost.  it has nothing to do with the dealer though.  you have to call chryco direct and they will reund your money.  all the recal is to set green miles in.  this means that the engine runs slightly different to "break-in" the new converter.  if this isn't done it will prematurly wear out.  as for your aftermarket converter the shop that put it on should have known to set the green mile program.  if you put it on yourself that sucks but you also payed half as much for the converter.  the dealer sets green miles every time they replace a converter.  basically the ones with the problem never had green miles programmed from  the factory and there fore wear the converters early.  it sucks cause you usually don't know about it untill you have 100k miles on it.
