I thought I'd finally give a quick introduction. I took ownership back in September of my parent's '94 YJ. It had only lived in Colorado and I knew that despite the 230,000 miles on the clock that the body and mechanics would be immaculate knowing my stepfather's care for vehicles. I landed in the Springs on a Saturday and began the two day road trip back to Indiana the next Monday morning. Man, that was a hell of a 1200 mile trip! I had been spoiled by my two previous cars with cruise control and A/C. Nevertheless, I quickly fell in love with my new (to me) Jeep. As I got down from the high altitude I was impressed with the increase of power from where I started the trip in Woodland Park. I know it's not built for speed but it does everything I need it to do at the modest altitude here in Indiana. It's been five months now and can't remember life without it! My kids love it and my wife doesn't (can it get any better?). My future plans are to lift it 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches and put 31's on it. I'd like to go to 33's but don't want to get into regearing to keep fifth gear. So far I've put 235/75/15's on a set of 2005 Unlimited Edition alloy wheels and installed greasable shackles with a modest 1" lift. I'll get post some pics soon. Oh, did I mention that it was FREE?
