Fellow Jeepers cry for help
« on: April 20, 2007, 12:44:32 PM »
I would not normally ask favors of anyone, and usual pride myself in doing things for myself but recent occurances have left me not knowing what to do.  Some of you know I am a college student working part time while in school to afford to live while attempting to also afford the hobby of Jeeping.  Last night my Jeep was broken into, nothing was taken but the top is now trashed.  It has been bad for awhile, tearing hear and there, some rips and really faded, but now I have no back window, one side window has a ton of cuts in it and the top itself is un useable.  Its supposed to be nice out for  few days so I can get by for a few, but after paying for bills, books, gas, etc, I honestly dont think I can afford to do anything for awhile.  If someone has an old used top that they retired, even if it isnt nice, I really just need somthing to get me by.  Just let me know how much.  I drive a 97 TJ.
I feel bad for even asking, but I can come up with a little money.  Things have gotten pretty tight in the last few weeks for me.
thanks
-Marc

I don't know which side window you are reffering to, but i have a set of plastic half doors.  The drivers side is sewn shut and the passenger side zipper works but is a bit shaky.  If you need those i will give them for free.  I don't know where you are at but if you need them we can figure out the shipping.

I might.  I stress might.  Have a spare back window for you.  I'll do some checking in the morning.  If I still have it, it's yours for shipping.
I have to stress again might.  I got a new one like 6 years ago, and I know I kept that old one for a while.  I don't remember tossing it.
I'll let you know tomorrow.

hmmm..I have a wind jammer/breaker back window. You might be able to use it with the remainder of your soft top. It will partially seal the front area. All I can think of, let me know and you can have it.

Gomi, that would probably help out alot as well!

I just checked the forcast...  Its just my luck that they would call for an 80% chance of strong thunderstorms including gusts of wind at 35mph with large damaging hail tomorrow afternoon through tomorrow night  :yikes:.  We havent had any rain in a long time and it just has to happen now.  Fu*kin jeep.   :uhoh:

I checked the garage today, but couldn't find that window.  I might have tossed it when I moved.  Sorry man.

How about an update bro...  You get things squared away?  Anyone who offered parts get them to you?  I ask, cause we care.
