It will since the 8.8 is a tad narrower than the D35.  Consider wheel spacers if it rubs bad, or rims with less backspacing.

My inner sidewall of my tire rubs my frame spring bucket at flex with my 8.8... anyone else have this problem?

You need to get different shocks and bump stops. The tire should clear the bucket during flex. It should rub the frame.... :brick:

You may want to look into wheel spacers to compensate for the lesser track width of the 8.8. I just swapped wheels with more backspacing. I'm running 15x7 w/ 3.75 bs. I get rubbing and I accept that. Difficult thing to consider when swapping wheels for bs, you have to consider the front and spare tire locations as well. Too much bs up front will keep the tires out from the fender. Not only does this dirty the side of the Jeep, this also could be considered illegal in many states. For the spare, you may have to add spacers to the rubber gommets that rest on the spare. This will keep the spare tight against the door and minimize the sheetmetal shredding itself from the weight of the spare tire off the back.

 I see what you guys are saying. my shocks are the shocks for my lift. and bumpstops...id really need big ones. Im at 6"+ all suspensions thats why it rubs the buckets and not the frame. It doesnt rub bad, I cant hear it. Nor is the bucket sharp. But I'd hate to f up a tire .. you know.

What back spacing does your rims have and tire size are you running.

No problems with my rims and tires. I am running a 31x10.5x15 on a 15x7 with 4.25 backspacing.

why do you have an 8.8 with 31s? my rims are 16x 8 and im spinning 35s. idk my exact bs. but its for a jeep. I will be back in 2 weeks guys. I leave in 4 hours for my annual training. continue this then..

Why a 8.8 for a almost Stock Jeep. The D35 was whinning so I swapped it out and Now I have disc brake and No whinning..

anyone running an 8.8 in a yj?  i am about done building mine and i want to know if the stock driveshaft length will work or if i need to be ready to go to custom shaft

In my yj I  installed a JB conversion transfer case with SYE and had a woody made when I still had the D35 in . I had a 4x4 shop install the 8.8 and they changed the ford pinion flange to a yoke that make it work. But it did need a custom ujoint. Can't recall the numbers but it like a 1310 to 1320 style type deal. I was told after that the driveline length would be within tolerance. All is fine after 4 years.

I thinking it was little shorter that stock by 1/2'' or so. But Don't Quote me.
