The Cooper ST seems like it would make a good choise, just get the tallest tire you can fit in as narrow of a size as possible and your Jeep will work great to get you through the worst of winter.
2 years ago, I was still driving my YJ on stock suspension and 31 trailcutters, was comming home in particularlly bad winter storm, came around a corner not far from the house and hit a snow drift that stopped the Jeep, once I got the windshield wipers to clear enough snow so I could see I was in a snow drift over the hood, I couldn't even get the doors to open from the snow packed around the Jeep, I dropped it into 4lo and after a little working of the wheel was able to back out, the drift looked liked I had already punched most of the way through it so I decided to give it a second go in 4hi (I was in 2hi the first time I hit it.) and I made it through the drift and the rest of te way home w/o issues. I will always have good tires on my rigs for winter.
