Hello all. I am new to this site, and new to the jeep family. I have been reading a lot of the posts on here and first let me that you all for taking the time to post. I am slightly mechanically inclined, but also eager to learn more. I have an 87 YJ that I got a couple of weeks ago, and it has the 2.5 TBI. A couple of questions. I have an oil leak coming from my oil fill cap. I bought a new cap just in case that was it, but didn't help. Also put a new PCV and a new generic breather canister from auto zone (the old breather was full of oil). None of that worked and I still have the leak. What would cause this extra pressure in the valve cover to make it spill out of my oil fill cap? Also, when I start the jeep up, it blows black soot all over my garage floor. It does seem to run rich (extreme exhaust fumes), so I changed the O2 sensor, and new plugs, cap and rotor, wires, and cleaned the coil up real good. It runs a little better, but still runs rich which I guess is causing the carbon build up in the exhaust?? I thought for sure the CAT was clogged, but when I climbed under the other night, no CAT, straight pipe to the muffler (which I'll also change, but want to get the air/fuel mixture right first). Any ideas here? Any help is appreciated.
