hi i am new to this forum and i have a problem i have had my nissan 240sx for about five years but it sucks in the snow so i got a jeep. i got the jeep hoping to be great for the winter but it will never start. the only way it will start is with some starting fluid but even then it will turn off. the carb was rebuilt befor i got it so i dont think its that but my dad says it might be the fuel pump that its not pumping the fuel but i dont know. can someon e please help me if anyone needs info on a 240sx then ask me but for jeeps i ask you guys please help. :'(

Well, have you started it and run it before winter? If it starts, then shuts off, it could be the fuel pump for sure, especially if it's never been replaced in it's lifetime (23 years is a long time for a mechanical pump to work).

It won't be hard to find a JY one if you take that route, but can't guarantee it to work... Anyways, if you think they will work, every cherokee before 86.5 will have the correct pump, as well as the YJ's... but you're less likely to find wrangler's in the JY...

OR, you can find a 90+ MPI with electrical pump, manifold, TB, wiring harness, well... pretty much everything... and do that swap, but that may be pretty hard... (it's my plan though!)

i dont want to spend much money just yet i just want to getr it running i guess it will be the pump because it will start but then sputter and die so my best bet would to go to the autoparts store and buy Fuel pump
