Electric Fan conversion questions
« on: April 04, 2008, 06:50:07 AM »
I just installed a flexalite electic fan on my jeep.  One problem I'm having is the optional bracket to mount my power steering unit and overflow bottle doesn't leave room for my overflow bottle to fit.  The jeep is a 1998.  Has anyone else done this?

Do you have any photos? I'm not sure why it wouldn't fit. Does the bracket also provide a spot for the power steering res?

I don't have a picture at the moment.  It does hold the power steering reservoir also.  The coolant reservoir is too tall to fit in the provided slop.  It hits the steering shaft before it sits all the way in the mount.  I am wondering if there is a difference between the 4 and 6 cylinder reserviors, and I have a 6 cylinder version?

I know there is a difference in the brackets for the 4 and 6 cylinder. I'm not sure about the res itself though.

I had the same problem with mine even after sending it back to FAL for a proper replacement. I ended up taking the second one to a metal shop to have it trimmed.

Do you have a picture of what the metal shop did?  What about an underhood picture?
