Crazy Heater Blower
« on: November 18, 2008, 05:43:08 PM »
Went to Big Rock Maysville, KY for a trail ride with club a couple weeks ago. And ever since then my heater controls are all wacked. The blower stays on high even tho the controls are turned low or off. I have replaced the resistor under the glove box but that didnt help.   Guess my next step is to replace the control panel or blower. I couldnt take it anymore so i pulled the blower fuse out, was to annoying... Of course now i have no flippn heat at all and the temp outside is dropping fast here in OH.

My heater/AC controls were screwed up.  I had max heat (or max cool) only.  The problem was in the temp control.
I tore the panel apart.
The three controls had all gotten extremely hot at some point.  There was some plastic melting.
I suspect the previous owner had run the heat on high for a long period of time.  Maybe to clear the windows?
I cleaned everything up, replaced the one control (less than 20 bucks) then reassembled.
Everything works fine now.
