Soft Top Repair?
« on: November 27, 2008, 04:22:28 PM »
My softtop is getting pretty rough, some zippers are starting to come apart at the ends, and where the top is sewed onto the plastic lips , it is coming unstiched, but other than that the top is in rather good shape. any chance this is repairable? or just  :flush: and buy a new one?

You might check at place that does boat covers and stuff see what they would charge you to fix it

SHoe repair shops also can do this.    Good luck finding one tho... I think most have gone the way of the dinosaur.

OK, after careful evaluation, I'm going to have to buy a new top, I've been finding lots of used hardtops for sale cheap, will a hard top fit with softtop doors?

the upper doors for hardtops are different than for soft tops.. 4wdhardware has some soft uppers for hardtops but If you have the money I'd go for  a hard upper / full door... I got a pair of soft uppers and im not impressed... they don't even have a way to seal the gap between the hard lower and soft upper.... (but i got mine from a guy from criagslist so the ones online could be (and hopefully are) different/ better)
