FYI - I was able to get my windshield brackets on with my snorkel. I realize mine is a TJ, on the other side of the Jeep, and may be different, but you never know!
I installed my snorkel before I got my lights. After getting the snorkel on, I realized I had enough clearance for the bracket, and it didn't interfere with the top part of the bracket. The only trouble I had was with the antenna.
I took some pics, but it's night time, and they didn't turn out too well.
Give it a shot, you never know!
Thanks, but it seems the TJ and YJ truly are different; in the YJ, the snorkel truly wraps around the frame, meaning that it has a cut on the back and it is located both in front and to the side of the frame itself (where as in the TJ, it seems it's only to the side). If you look at the bracket part of the diagram, you will see what I mean; in the YJ, you mount the bolts to the rear of the snorkel, and the then bolt the mount to the windshield frame (meaning that the bolts from the mount to the snorkel end up facing the frame); whereas in the TJ, the mount bolts first to the frame and then to the norkel (meaning the the snorkel covers only the frame bolts, but not the snorkel bolts).
By the way, it also seems that in the TJ, the snorkel comes into the engine bay at a lower point than in the YJ (something I like better in the YJ version)...
Quadratec has something like this, dont know if you would be interested in it. It's about $33
Thanks, TST, I think this could be an interesting option; I just wonder how it would affect visibility, though... Anyone out there running these?
