I noticed a differance! type 3 inj install
« on: March 29, 2009, 10:56:54 AM »
Hey guys I did notice a differance in power not a huge jump but some. My oem injectors looked crappy so that prolly why. The power does feel smoother. Also I can pull a hill alot better in 4th gear when normally I would have to down shift. My banger just got new 33's. I had 31's and I would have to down shift with the 31's.
Just thought I would give a heads up.

I installed some Design III's about 2-3 months ago that I got from another member on here, I too noticed a difference.. Mine has no issue running up to 6K if need be (I'm not afraid to ring 'er out  :smokes:). Have you done any other mods besides the injectors? My  next step will be a hotter coil, and possibly an MSD 6A box... Still deciding if I want to drop th dough on one...

I have done the electric fan mod and 4.0L throttle body mod. so far. I still need to get a little higher amp alternator though. The fan kinda bogs down the motor alittle. BUT I did notice since the new injectors that the motor idles alittle higher maybe 100 rpms or so.
I might start messing around with the ignition soon. Let me know how yours turns out.

every time someone mentions running their 2.5l at 6k i  :'( a little becasue every time i get over 4k i can smell increased oil leakage and my motors general need for a rebuild (but it insists on never giving up)...

keep those 4bangers running strong

i pulled my old motor out at just shy of 200K, I think the head might have been reworked before we got it back in '04 but other than that it was never touched. It sounded like CRAP as soon as I hit about 3300 rpm's, so I did my best not to ring it out. The motor in there now has ~ 55-60k on it and runs like a champ and has no issues running at higher rpm's  :smokes:

They might not be the most powerful little motor, but they do stand up to some abuse!  :weee:

If you want the fan to pull fewer amps, get the fan controller from DC Control, it's a variable controller and uses very little amps, only spinning as fast as necessary to keep the jeep cooler.
