Today I followed the FAQ write up and converted my 95 YJ to a 20 gallon tank. It only took about an hour and seems to have gone fine. A couple small things to note. In my 95 there was no reason to remove the wheel well liner as there is a metal piece between the fender well and the area behind the filler neck. There is just a small plastic piece similar to the fender well plastic that removes with just two of the plastic push screws. I haven't put it back in yet and I am considering leaving it out. The hoses are tucked up well and it seems to just collect dirt. Any reason to put it back? The biggest fight was with the hose clamp where the vent hose went into the tank; it was rotated so the screw was pointing up. I wound up having to cut part of the hose and twist it until I could get to the clamp. There was still enough to get it clamped back together at the end.
There was another hose (1/2 - 1 inch) that was plugged anchored behind the filler neck. Anyone have any idea what that is?
It wound up being a very easy, quick upgrade that I think will come in quite handy (33% more gas for free). Thanks Jeffy for outstanding instructions.
I have no doubt I have used the wrong terminology here and there. I am learning as I go, but with a lot of the write ups and info I have gotten her it is easier than I expected.
Thanks Again.
