89 Relay Position
« on: May 07, 2009, 02:33:47 PM »
Hi,

Was hoping someone could let me know what the position of the 2 relays next to the battery should be?

They were popped off in the dark, and I just want to make sure I put them on correctly.  OR if it's no big deal how they are connected.

I know there was a write up somewhere on how to read the switch with voltmeter, but I'm just looking for a quick pic or someone to just tell me

Thanks

thats what that thing is.. all my electrical issues are always near there.. i think spanky is talking about the relays the snap into / attach to the angled support for the battery tray...

Thanks Harris.  That is starter relay/fusible link 'hub'.

Chardrc - you are correct.  I am looking for the snap in relays up top of fender in front of battery.

Still trying to trace my electrical issue (new baby have not had too much garage time) and will have to work off of that starter relay.

If someone could snap a pic of the relays on the top fender that would be awesome

Thanks everyone

took soem pics quick.. turns out the relays are on the hood / fender side of the battery with plastic clip things.. hopefully the pics help..

after rereading i think i missed the point of your post.... are you saying like rotation of the relays? / if they are plugged in right? i would say if everything works they are in corectly... if i get bored again ill run out and pop one off to take more (useful pics)

LOL - your relays looked like my orig ones...and that's my problem.  I got new relays and am not sure how to stick em in.  I was hoping to avoid using voltmeter to figure it out, by just copying someone's setup from a pic.

thanks

Just go ahead and stick them in- the relays are the same.  I've pulled mine and swapped positions with mine, and it makes no difference which goes where.

Hmm Ive never noticed that space before. Ive been looking for a place to put relays that would be out of the way, and I think I may have found it.  Thanks.
