1994 wrangler 2.5 has 22psi at idle and will lose pressure and die at times.  The previous owner put in a new pump, sock, filter, vent tube trying to solve the pressure issue.  I have replaced regulator and crank position sensor also and it still has low pressure.

hint.. you don't need a new thread for everything.. this should go along with the other fuel pressure thread you have.

already answered in his other thread (he's got 3 going in fact)

Mine is at 22psi at idle.
31psi give or take depending on altitude and health of the engine. unplug the vac port and it should be spot on at 39psi

EDIT: you can download the Factory Service Manual from the FAQ section too - it's listed there

22psi at idle with vacuum hooked up and 32 with the tube taken off of the regulator.  Pump?

there's a check you should do that i posted in your other thread - since you are getting 32 with the vac off sounds like the FPR - my point being it means that your pump is capable of 32 so the pressure at idle should be higher - if you don't have enough flow to sustain the pressure of 31psi then unplugging the vac should not make a difference, but the 10psi more is close with what the vac line diff would be so at this point i incline that is either the FPR or it's your gauge that is showing wrong values. Did you drive it to see what happens with the pressure when it dies?

When it dies the pressure drops to 7psi or so.  I will look at the other thread.  Thanks for your help, Im kind of lost on this.  The rer is new also.

post your results when you unplug the return line and we go from there - it could be that you have at least 2 of the problems below
1. your pressure gauge is off
2. your pump stops somehow (either electric or it's damaged) or you have some sort of dirt in the tank, i would also measure the voltage at the pump if you run out of options.
4. your FPR is off by 8 psi or so

it has to be at least 2 of these or otherwise i can't explain why the 22 / 32 psi range (if it was 2psi diff i could understand but 10 seems right). And the 7 psi when it stops can be that your pump has no more voltage or that it looses it's power (pressure/flow related and not voltage) to push the fuel.

I would try a new pump and sock and filter sounds to me the pump is pos. hook up your fpg and run it take a pliers and pinch off the return line and se if the reading goes up that will make the fuel pump put out max psi dont keep the return pinched to long though. mine runs 32psi and 39 psi w/o vac to reg
good luck

return is plastic (at least on the 1994 model like he has), can't pinch it - but that's a good tip if he takes out the return and puts a hose in for the test.
