Speaker Bar Wiring
« on: November 01, 2009, 06:09:32 PM »
Installed speaker bar on 2001 Wrangler.  Overhead light was wired (red wire) to bulb under dash.  Ground wire was connected to cab wall with other black wires.  When door is closed, speaker bar light is on.  When Doors are opened, o/h light turns off and underdash light is on.

Any recommendations on how to wire speaker bar so light is on when doors are opened?

:roflol: backwards

the way the dome lights are usually wired is:
red wire goes to 12v permanent (one of th wires on your bulb under the dash).
black wire goes to the switch on the door (which will give ground and turn on the light when you open the door) - that is the other wire on your under dash light

so basically use the 2 wires that go to your under dash light to connect the 2 wires that go to your dome light - that would work like a charm - i would try to keep the red to the 12v side just to be politically correct.
