when did you check if the egr was getting vacuum?.. it isn't engaged until the jeep is warmed up and when its not idling or wot. can you give some more details. so it jut starters to cut our when you let off the gas to shift between 1st and 2nd or between all gears. does it change if its warmed up or cold.
just reread the thread name.. so its when you are driving and in the gears... the egr would effect that range of driving (assuming your not pedal to the floor). did this start / change with unplugging and capping off the line to the egr? if it was never engaging the solenoid could have gone bad that controls egr vacuum.. (i have no experience with disabling the egr so not sure what the effect would be other than more burnable air in the motor)
