clutch problem?
« on: February 23, 2010, 08:43:40 AM »

When wheeling this weekend the YJ was in twisted spot and it was hard to shift into first and reverse with the clutch pedal depressed.  It was easier with the engine off and it also went in easily one time after pumping the clutch pedal three times.

I think this could be due to a heating of the clutch fluid or possibly an intenal leak that normally does not cause a problem (first time ever).  Any thoughts on the matter?

Thanks

same here as with your brake problem, either a leak or fluid level + a steep incline. if your slave is external i don't see how the fluid can get to the boiling point (that's usually the case with brakes and not the clutch), not sure what's the case with the internal one so if that is the type you have i have no idea if it can happen or not.

Thanks.  I'll check the fluid level and not worry about it too much for now...unless I start to have trouble shifting with just street use.
