Anyone here bought tires on credit?
« on: March 01, 2010, 09:20:20 AM »
My rear meats are well past their prime and my fronts aren't much better. I've searched CL several times and it seems that any decent used tires are priced so high that I might as well get new ones, or they're just cheap tires with less tread than what I've currently got. I would LOVE a set of new KM2's but can't really justify dropping +/- $900 up front on them so I've started thinking about financing tires through like America's Tire and paying them off as fast as I can. There's 0% interest if you pay it off within 6 months, and my credit score is OK and I don't have outstanding debts so I think it'd be easy get approved...

save your cash and wait....I would only do that if it was an absolute emergency or dangerous to drive on my current tires.

But as long as I pay it off in 6 months or less, there's no interest so it's not like I'd be paying any extra  FWIW I'm not trying to argue your post by any means  :pirate:

It's not an emergency, but even in 4HI it's sketch driving through light snow when I hit up the slopes... Especially if I have to hit the brakes. And even in rainy weather they slide around a lot. I've got a lot of work coming up towards the end of the month so I might have the dough by then, but the whole credit thing seems like a fast and easy way to get new meats and feel secure
