Topic: Dana 30 Outer seal

Can the outer seals they sell fit a dana 30 on a YJ? I've been told no, but see they sell them - not wure what to do - I have a lot of crap get in my tubes and would love to stop this to save the inner seals from going to crap so quickly. Any help would be great. Here is what I'm talking about.

You can only use those seals if you have converted to TJ shafts.  The drivers side will fit, but with the disconnect on the passanger side, the shaft where the disconnect hooks up is bigger than the opening on the seal and you cant slide it through the seal

Thanks I was scared of that - I like the split axle, because I have a locker and disconnecting it helps keep the stearing from binding up when I drive on the streets. Plus the seal on the disconnect side is easier ot install than the driver side since all you have to do is pull the axle and take the disconnect cover off.

again thanks - i'll see if I can find just one new one for the driver side - that will help a little.

Weather you have a once piece inner axle like the TJ/XJ or the 2 piece YJ set up, a front locker in 2WD should not be noticed. There is no power going to the front end so it's invisible until power is applied.
