95' 2.5 engine install into a 98' wrangler
« on: September 16, 2010, 07:48:51 PM »
My 99' Wrangler developed a knock a couple of months ago so, I have been searching high and low for a replacement until I can rebuild the original and reinstall it. I have located a 95' 2.5 and am curious if this engine will work, if I put my manifolds on the "new" long block. My engine has over 130K miles and the replacement has 85K. your assistance is greatly appreciated and requested.

should work no problem but get the sensors off your old one.

I read here in another post by Jeffy that the waterpump rotates the other way on TJ vs YJ so you might have to move that over as well depending with what serpentine belt routing you end up.
