Hi guys,

Have you guys heard about the regenerative shock absorbers? For those who don't know yet, it is currently still in development. Its concept is to harness the heat dissipated from shock absorbers and use it as an alternative energy source for the vehicle.

As off-road enthusiasts, would you like this to have this on your vehicle? Are there any other alternative energy devices that you would love to incorporate in your off-road vehicle?

For off road vehicles, I always believe that simplicity is the key; I have seen too many things fail to go and complicate the system even more, so I would rather not use something like this for an offroad vehicle.  A dual purpuse rig MAYBE (and mine is dual purpose, and I would not add it still), but a road driven SUV would be OK, I guess...

the radiator gets way hotter (at least in the summer), so are the brakes, the shock absorber mechanical energy transformed into heat then back into something else (electricity i assume) it's a long shot, might as well take the oscillations off the suspension and turn it directly into electricity (not a new concept btw)
