Shifting issues
« on: January 07, 2011, 06:25:11 AM »
Ever since I put in the transfer case lowering blocks that came with the lift, I have had issues with my shifting. Is there something I need to do? It is hard into 2nd and some times pops out if not in 2nd good.

I had to move the sheetmetal that bolts onto the tunnel (under the carpet) further back to clear the shifter, not much though

also, when you installed the blocks did you release the bolts on the transmission skid plate? if you didn't then it would pull the transmission slightly back.

I'll check that interior plate. The skid plate was off when I first installed the blocks. I didn't re-attach the tranny till after I was done. Just feels like the boot or something is tight and is slightly hard to shift into 2nd and other down gears.

yes, that's what i had too, move that metal plate over and it will solve the problem, you don't need much to get it right, i used self tapping screws at the time

you might get away with bending it (read that somewhere) but can't tell for sure since i didn't do it that way
